I have been using Twitter for a while and I plan to offer something for my readers by collecting the list of Twitter followers who will actually follow you back. But there is always one trick, you are really supposed to follow them as well.

Why should I blog?

There are many blogs coming out nowadays and I see some of the blogs are actually just made for AdSense and it is becoming more and more typical. It is always good to earn money while you blog however; you should prioritize what is actually more appealing to you while you blog. So, following are the reasons in order why I blog.

It’s just simply to share what I know and give you the best options to create wealth online, it is not easy task, but it’s already short cut because I would have tried many other techniques and will not mention if it’s not important.

Everything is about learning since we were born, we all learn to learn. Toddler, kid, adult, we have to learn everyday as a human nature. If I want to be expert in my area, I also have to learn to improve myself too.

This is definitely enjoyable experiences of blogging for me. Apart from comment spams and auto commenters that are automatically deleted from the system, I enjoy interacting with my readers who are willing to give honest and truthful comments. Also, I got more solutions to solve on particular issue with commenting and I love it.

To earn money while I blog

This would be my last intention, however, it is always good to earn while I blog which is what I love to do.

So, the bottom line is blog the things you love to write about, enjoy and share your experiences, interact with new friends and also you can basically earn from you blog. Of course, if you want to create great money making site, it is better you should try with some sort of business plan before you start writing any. To be honest, blog can make you pretty good money, at the same time, it can also consume too much of your time. So, you need to know your limits and schedules if you want to start blogging. Any comments or suggestions are always welcome.

Recently, I have installed do-follow enabled comment plugin on my sites and It works like a charm. As you may all have known wordpress and most of the blogs have disabled in default, however, if you can control your spam, there’s actually better way you can take control of do-follow links.

So, i installed this fantastic do-follow plugin for my wordpress and I have actually received more comments than before just in a few couple of days. That is awesome, isn’t it?

What are the advantages of do-follow?

Of course, there are bunch of advantages for do-follow sites, I will summarize for both myself and the rest of my visitors.

1. Default settings are always on a safe side. Once you enabled do-follow link there’s imminent threat of spamming. LOL, all you need to have a a couple of top rated spam filters such as Akismet and so on. On the bright side, it’s massive traffic. There’s always an opportunity cost for higher traffic, that comes with higher spams.

2. Repeating comments, there are two ways to follow up repeating comments, one to reply each visitor comment, and another one from visitor’s reply. Confused? Bottom line, your blog post may earn more than 2 comments from each entry because many people will comment you genuinely, on the other hand, if your visitors are clever enough, they make sure they write more than 1 comment at your blog, or reply to the same comment so that the search engine bots will read them more than once.

3. Don’t worry about PR/Alexa, they are alternative ways to benchmark your site, especially I don’t believe in Alexa ranking. I would trade more traffic than getting better PR/Alexa ranking. That’s the truth. Do-follow blogs are actually giving legit backlinks to your commentors, but don’t worry, you get heaps of traffic and your ranking will grow because It just does it.

4. Encouraging your readers to comment is best thing for bloggers. You allow backlinks, you encourage your readers that you are giving something back , rather than expecting something, that builds a great relationship to your readers as well.

5. By sharing about do-follow to those who do not know, you take control of knowledge that your visitors/readers do not know yet. It is a good opportunity your readers are bloggers and this will also help them to get backlinks which bloggers indeed love.  The more you can help a hand, the smarter you sound, don’t you?

6. Since I have carefully built my site around big search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and MSN , ask.com , etc etc. I have very confident that every single page of mine is properly pinged and quickly indexed. Make sure you use sitemap xml and site verifications with Google, Yahoo! and MSN to get faster search engine updates. Easy Breezy method for organic search.

7. It creates a larger community. Why? Because you have no-follow blog before, now you enabled do-follow site, that’s where you have massive members and visitors to make a geniune comments and in return they get backlinks for their PR or more traffic, it’s a win-win situation and you also get to know your readers. Spam filters will actually differentiate your readers and just those people who want backlinks and etc.

8. The quality backlinks are important and half the time, many people do not understand what they mean. It depends on the place where you put your comments as well as your niche. If you are car-sales category and make a comment on this infomm.com website, you are not getting quality backlinks, that’s for 100% sure. Maybe, a legit backlinks. You need to find similar niche for your site, so that you leave comment accordingly.

9. Okay, #9 is NONE , just start doing what I have mentioned above. You will see the difference. Now, start getting quality backlinks by leaving comment on this post.

Previously, I have posted about viral marketing for online advertising. Now, I want to share a little bit further more about viral marketing and why should we use it in order to drive massive traffic to our websites.

So, cut to the chase, WHY do we use viral marketing techniques?

1. quick to drive traffic (once it’s starting to spread, there’s basically no limit, the message will pick up the speed faster and to the bigger audience)
2. cost effective (once again, no limit, easy to start and cheap to expect the traffic, make sure your site has some to offer for your visitors to become regular)
3. niche gathering (you will eventually find where your niche is headed and your target audience in no time as long as you offer unique content that are original, photographer offers photoblog whereas geek-blog offers all technology news)

Bottom Line, traffic means money, relevant niche means more money, cost effective mean more money. So, what else shall I say?

So, this comes the question, WHAT are the techniques?

1. I am going to repeat this again, provide quality content, products or services. (provide something which is unique for your visitors)
2. Give something away (I would recommend gmail service to my friends because they basically gave away free service for e-mail, don’t they? you gotta offer something so that will create buzz).
3. Recommendation or referral on your site. (something like share this post, email to a friend, etc etc, that will create more buzz because I would really recommend to my friend if a particular website offer something nice)
4. Have some video clips, or free e-book to give away or have a personal blog about your interest on the site (that will also give some kind of expose to your visitors and yes it does really attract traffic)
5. Social bookmarking icons and links (They are basically helping you to bookmark or submit to the sites, either way, they are good for traffic, easy for search engine to index, my personal favorites regarding SEO are reddit, technorati and digg)
6. Use RSS feed or any sort of Feed (Some of my audience like RSS feed because they are firefox fans, some of them love email feed as well, so feedburner or similar service sites can offer, I use feedburner of course, you can set up either RSS feed or email subscription)
7. Do what others do not generally offer (It’s very simple but sometimes it is easily overlooked in many cases, for example, I enabled “do-follow” plugin in my wordpress, which default is “no-follow” for commenters, so I would get more visitors who will want to have do-follow link on my site and will write more comments as well.
8. Run on-site competitions (Many internet gurus are still using this method, and that’s how they get massive traffic and regular visitors)
9. Build a community and relationship with your visitors (Communication is the key to success, if you interact with your visitors, you will build the better relationship between you and your visitors that is very good for long term)

Ok, There are main 9 methods I have tested and experimented in the past and they have created impressive traffic for me.

So, start right now because what I have suggested will cost next to nothing. You can basically start with no-investment methods such as adding referal scripts, RSS setup, email subscriptions and some fabulous content first.

Google has introduced KNOL for sometimes, now they are promoting it. I definitely think KNOL will help all the information seekers better than ever. This is probably another technique of Google’s collection of knowledge base search engine, we could presume.

What is KNOL?

It’s basically units of knowledge written about various subjects. However, as like many google applications, knol is current at a beta stage.

Why should we participate at KNOL?

Many advantages, make yourself exposed to the knowledge based world, information sharing site. You can take credit for writing, provide credentials, reviews and comments. Users can provide comments, review and related information.

What subjects we can write on KNOL?

Well, pretty much everything. LOL

What are common advantages using KNOL?

You can get good back links to your website, that’s pretty good for SEO, but it’s very important you don’t spam the links. You can get credited and for me, the best thing is collaboration mode that many people can work together on a same project/subject which is pretty awesome. I think that idea is derived from online project collaboration sites as Google has capabilities for doing it so such as Google Docs.

What do I think about this?

KNOL for me is basically a combination of blog/search engine/multimedia gateway to all the information retrievers. Being a active participant on google’s main site, you will not only create traffic for your website on your niche, but also will create exposure to your materials. All you need to do is to be original, informative and unique with your content.

For those who are curious about Windows 7, your curiosity is almost revealed. Microsoft has released Windows 7 beta version. 

It is probably not recommended for those without IT knowledge and most importantly, Please do not test on your work computer or everyday computer. As we all know, beta version are buggy, but you will be the first to experience this operating system.

There are three important things you need to know before you test the OS.

• The Windows 7 Beta is actually a pre-release version of Windows. While it is considered stable and high-quality beta, it’s not the finished  final product. It could perhaps crash your computer or cause you to lose important files or information. Bottom line, you have risks of running the windows just like previous beta testing. 
• The Beta version will stop operating on August 1, 2009. To continue using your PC, please be prepared to reinstall a prior version of Windows or a subsequent release of Windows 7 before the expiration date. You won’t be able to upgrade from the Beta to the final retail version of Windows 7. So, let’s say you have 7-8 months of usage, So, don’t really expect to have important files or such. Perhaps use virtual machines if your computer has enormous amount of memory and disk space. 
• Important Note to Internet Explorer 8 Beta testers: If you’re already testing Internet Explorer 8, please be aware that the version in the Windows 7 Beta is at a different stage of release. If you’re beta-testing Windows 7, you need to use the version of Internet Explorer 8 that comes with it. So, if you are upgrading from xp or vista, I suggest DON’T. try clean install on a different computer for just beta testing.

Today, I decided to install threaded comments plugin for my blog. It is actually very good plug-in and I definitely need to use it because my visitor rate has been increasing week by week, so is the comments on my blogs. 

The reason I choose this plug in is simple. It works like a magic, it helps to everyone who comments on the blog to have clearer message and which comment is intended to a particular person. This actually facilitates not only the communications between you and your visitors, but also all your visitors themselves as well.

You can download the plug-in here. The  installation part is pretty straight forward.

• download the zip file.  Unzip the plugin package. 
• rename the file name if you think it’s too long, like ”wordpress-thread-comment” folder to “wp-thread-comment”
• As usual, just upload it to WordPress Plugin folder, ‘*/wp-content/plugins/’
• Activate the plugin from wp admin page
• Check if you see the word “reply” on your comments, if so, then you are done.
• More options can be set in settings just like any other plug-ins.
