I actually learn linux all by myself too. all u need is time and self-study. If you are new to linux.. it’s best you use virtual machine or extra computer that can install stand alone.
there are many virtual machine that can install linux, my favorite one will be virtual box.. So, u can install on your windows computer, and virtual box will run as a mini-computing system. If u r very new to linux.. there are many ways you can get to know them.. First learning in Distrowatch.com and what are the core ingridients in each distribution.. I like Fedora 10 or 11 the best to learn new things, because they have apache, httpd, ftp, database, many scripting, also security and networking setup, I quite like it…
Let’s say, u want dual-boot with computer, not using virtual machine, try ubuntu 9.04, ubuntu is the best linux to install.. they have two version, desktop and server version, u can choose whatever version u want to master it.
Generally learning for Linux, for starter.. you can read through this website to get to know bit by bit.
Free trainings are starting from Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Level. Moreover, you will be able to learn some useful tips and tricks of Linux operating system and its functions. Once you complete the course, it is time to choose a particular distribution and start mastering the Linux one by one. My person choices will be Fedora 11 or Ubuntu 9.04 as of today.. These versions will change time after time as they will release more or less every 6 months to 12 months as a new version.
Thanks for reading.

Well, I use Linux for myself and I love using it.. I try to use as much as I could because it is pretty cool to learn other operating sytems as well. Right now, I am currently using Ubuntu 8.10 desktop edition.
I have stumbled across some readings past a couple of days about Linux and Now I would like to say a bit about Linux.

linux
How to get?
Linux is open source operating system and you can actually download hundreds of distributions across the world. The one you can download everything in one place could be DistroWatch. Except for the commercial ones, you can actually get them all FREE.
Why use Linux?
I would say it’s a pretty good question, since many people based around on windows, but it’s always good to debate because normally all Linux software can do what Windows software can do, maybe not very attractive looking, but they get the work done, and yes, It is all FREE. You can see Linux software equivalent to Windows here.
Control my system?
Yes, you can.
You have complete control of your system, what you want to bypass or what you want to do. Because functions are built by individuals and whatever you assign, you don’t follow the protocols.
Fantastic Community
I have been a subscriber for Fedora Linux for several years, and I still am. I enjoy the community in Linux, because they are all willing to help you more than troll on boards and forums. Most of the solutions are obtained in a matter of minutes, maybe an hour or two. That’s how fast Linux community is.. Of course, I do not join every single distribution of Linux community, but the ones I joined, I always enjoy to hang around even Google groups.
Free from Virus and Malicious Codes
That’s another big reason I love Linux about. Enough said in the title.
Quick development
I don’t know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I consider this as a good thing. Some people think it is very confusing and I don’t disagree. Linux is pretty fast in development. When I do my graduate project in 95, I use Fedora 4.0 with both KDE and Gnome desktop environment. Last time I checked, before end of 2008, Fedora has released version 10.0, that’s how fast Linux developments are. By the way, Ubuntu 9.04 has been released yesterday. Possible the best desktop Linux edition available online, of course, completely FREE and now it does not even need virtual box or vmware to test it, you can install extremely easy.
Thousands of manuals and ebooks available
It is irony that as much as Linux distributions are available FREE as well as manuals and administrations e-books are also free.
64bit Architecture
It is just awesome to use 64bit Architecture on Linux especially when you have massive memory and super fast computing system. Most Linux distributions provide for both 32bit and 64bit versions. How convenient!
In conclusion, if you have never tried Linux, give it a try. You will be amazed to know there are hundreds of millions of people who love using Linux once you get to know it. I know it’s too much technical, but I am neither hardcore programmer nor OS developer. But I think Linux gives you a choice of freedom what you have never had before and It is been 11 years for me that I started using Linux and they have never disappointed me either.

I am so impressed with wordpress 2.7, because it changes a lot of things. The design is very nice and easy to browse.
You may be amazed to know that wordpress has changed interface and its functions. The best thing I like about is to be able to update everything easily and one click install for plug-ins. Isn’t that cool?
Now it will take less than 1 minute to install usual plugins that would take about 10 minutes and now no hurdles at all.
All the drop down menu on the right has given users to browse and make changes easier than ever.
This wordpress 2.7 will save you time and efforts to set up and upgrade in the future. That’s the best thing I like about. The version upgrade will be now like plugin upgrade and you do not have to worry about database backup and etc.
Another fantastic thing is Ajax interface for comment management that administrator can now easily manage the comments that are being waited for moderation.
Of course, it will not be enough if I don’t mention easy breezy Admin control panel’s new look that will give you maximum satisfaction of being a wordpress blogger.
So, don’t wait and upgrade your wordpress to 2.7. Thanks for reading
