15 Oct 08 Learn How Not to Get Banned from Google AdSense

Well, this is probably not very new topic for you. However, I still would like to discuss from my point of view and a few solutions that you can prevent from getting banned from Google AdSense Online Advertising and Publishing Program.

Okay, I am a member at Digital Point Forums, the place is like a gateway to the Webmaster A-to-Z knowledge, I have seen brilliant guys and ladies helping each other over there. I learned a lot of things I have never ever known of. And to the irony, I notice something everyday, It’s like “My site got banned from Google” or “My site is no longer indexed in Google”, It is like having a breakfast every morning for me, Because when I login to digital point, that’s what i see every morning.

I know we loving reading, but not really what it comes to reading things like terms & conditions and TOS and disclaimers and copyright and oh, the list goes on and on. Absolutely, you don’t need to read all those boring things but all you need is just follow these proper procedures & you will never need to read boring stuff.

1. Use Unique content (I have mentioned of this several times already LOL)
2. Must have at least 20 unique content pages of your site (This is more about getting approval instead of ban, but unique content pages are always a plus)
3. Don’t use Hidden Texts or change the codes given (Using small display texts and load with rich keywords)
4. Do not use bots or click frauds (Do not cheat, because all the potential fraud clicks and counts will be refunded back to original Advertiser, Think of yourself as an advertiser, you will love to have targeted audience with true human visitors, so As a publisher, treat the same as how you would like to be treated)
5. Use the AdSense approved formats only (You have several formats to display, more than enough, but don’t be super-smart, you will be banned)
6. Don’t click on your own ads (everyone needs to know, that’s very important and tempting sometimes when you see the ads, of course you can click other ads when you really are surfing, but keep in mind, no clicking on your ads, not even ONCE, period), It has been well documented one person was banned having click twice his ads within 24 hours, so keep your hands away from your own ADS.
7. Don’t do overkill Ads placement on a single page, 3 Ad Links or 3 Ad Units. Besides, it will decrease your conversion rate and 90% of visitors hate full of ads page. (Simply follow Goggle’s rules)
8. Don’t display similar Ads as Google (Keep in mind that you have to satisfy the big guy Google, don’t mess up with similar ads such as Adbrite text ads on the left and Adsense on the right)
9. Never tell/write in your contents anyone to encourage, persuade, push or trick to click your ads, you will get banned. (Google use several variations and conditions to check your page content and relevancy, check out my article about Google and its technology, you will be amazed how smart their search engines and hypertext analysis methods are)
10. Use single Google account to maintain several websites/AdSense Channels. It is a must, if you have 100 websites, you can still use your singleaccount@gmail.com, don’t do multiple accounts for multiple sites. (This is also help you to protect identify theft and will save a lot of time for Google to make a quick payment, meaning, we all get money faster)
11. If you want to label them, use “sponsored links” or “advertisements”, other keywords are not allowed. (Don’t make labels like NGO supported, donation welcome or me love you long time, in this case, you will be banned and your arse will be burned)
12. Never launch a new page in new windows if you are linking inbound links. (That is multiple pages pressuring visitors to click your ads, and that is wrong, all inbound links, do not open in a new window)
13. Use Ads on content pages (don’t create blank page with ads, you will be banned, don’t create copy/paste materials all the time, you will be banned, don’t use terrible design & layout, you won’t be banned, but many people hate them )
14. Do not try to cover ads elements, you see like “google ads” >> << things like that, don’t try to hide them under something and don’t try to trick Google. (You will be banned. Google nicely allows you to use different background color to fit in with your content pages. Yes, use Blend, it will fit in nicely most of the times)
15. Check your contents all the time. Don’t just throw cheap contents just to make your site stuff. Always aware of your contents. That’s very important. (Of course, your contents should be free of pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content)
16. Don’t over advertise your ads. (Google allows you to enter relevant keywords, but don’t over do with rich keywords again)
17. Do not trick with images and texts of ads. (Trying to portray like images and texts are related in order to make visitors to click, you will be banned)
18. My Site PR7 PageRank for sale (Don’t try to sell pagerank, it is not a right, it’s a privilege, so don’t screw yourself, since your site has good PageRank, it’s even better for Google to trace your activities, oops, you have done a lot of great SEO works and everything you write, Google will find out faster than the potential buyers)
19. Don’t do link farms with Adsense. (Search engine crawlers hate link farms, so make sure who you are connected to, be relevant with your discussion as well, experts said if you have more than 100 links in a page, that is very likely your site creditability will be low and maybe exclude or discount you from page ranking system, heard the stories of PR5 to PR2 in 2 days?)
20. Make sure there is NO pop-up ads or pop-under ads on your site (that’s another “How to Get banned from Google AdSense in a 24 hours guide book”, just kidding)
21. Provide a good environment for advertisers (They are paying money to you, so be nice, be informative when you give out facts, be true to visitors, so Google can assign related ads to your sites, don’t worry about the keywords rate, once you are true to your visitors, you always get rewarded).
22. Be Alerted and Active (Always update your current emails if Google sent u important emails, some people got banned because they don’t response on time and not follow the Google guidelines within given period)
23. Don’t use black hat SEO and Pay-To-Click services around your site. Be square and Be Fair to honest people who uses SEO methods honestly and advertisers who want to get their products or services known.

Well, I don’t so smartly come up with all these great suggestions all by myself even though I read whatever it is necessary to create this post.

10 Oct 08 Let Others Link, Let’s Link Others

Webmasters use these words very often, search engines and PageRank. They are the sources of income. In fact, because the more links you are exposed and linked to, the bigger chance of getting more traffic, that will eventually bring possible visitors to become your customers. 

Therefore, Link building becomes one of the excessive used terms among webmasters and SEO experts. As I have explained about how Google and its technology regarding page rank system and hypertext analysis, It is important to build links around your blog/site. I  have submitted to several search engines, you can see major search engines and directory list to submit on the above link. So, that kind of link building is easy to implement. Make sure you have done the same for your website too.

It is important to build quality links and how can you decide what are the quality links? It’s the key of the link building, if you submit at low PR ranking sites and not usually updated sites, it is waste of your time to submit your link. Some blogs are dead and you comment on their sites with your URL, that’s another waste of time.

However, I encourage you to comment on quality blogs (you need to make sure they are not copy/paste, scams, pushing you to click their affiliates or ads and etc). I have made some comments on some quality blogs, I have already saw my sites as back-links because great blogs actually update regularly, keep in touch with readers and utilize SEO properly. So, when I check my links associations, I can easily find out whose sites have quality links and regular updates. So, comment on quality blogs in such a great manner and proper way. Commenting others is not to judge for what they have written, but to understand what the message is all about and contribute your suggestions regarding to the original article. 

Don’t just put your URL and write “visit my site” or “nice one”, if you do not mean it read it, I do not think search engines will not value your input on particular page because you do not really mean it too. Remember, search engines use millions of conditions to index a particular web-page, if you don’t mean it, they won’t feel it too.  Most importantly, discuss in the blogs related to your website you are linking. For example, if you have a “fashion online shop” and if you are writing unrelated comments at “online gamers” site, search engines may not index your site as a qualified back-links. 

So, back to my topic, it’s always good to link to others. And let others link back to you, whatever your site and niche may be, it has to be consistent, regularly updated and keeping the communications alive with your readers/visitors/members.

Also I always allow ping service to my wordpress blog. So, if you are using wordpress like me, when you do the link reference, your website link will be already added. This is one of the powerful features that I have enabled in my blog. So, just feel free to link to my site as a reference, your site link will also be published, as I am always improving my site with search engines, your site will also be counted as a back-link. Because I always do the same when I reference someone else links. It is a win-win situation and very ethical way to link up to one another. And that’s the way google, yahoo! and MSN live bots index the links too. My techniques are simple and no tricks required. But it will also prevent you to get banned from major search engines. 

But please bare in mind, when you write something for your readers, Write for readers, don’t write for google, yahoo or msn, but always comply with what search engines want. Word of Mouth is indeed a powerful thing. That includes people volunterily linking your site and you will get more exposure.  Just remember to give something useful and nice to your visitors/readers. There is always reward for your great hard-work.

You can choose to display their ads on your website, they will provide you all the necessary information to insert on your blog/website. And you get the cut from them depending on the. It’s that simple. But one thing to remember, do not mixed up and over-advertise on your website. For clicks example, if you have AdSense program already running from Google, You may not use AdBrite program very similar to Adsense program, AdSense program allows third party ads on your page, but do not annoy many ads and little contents on your page. It will make visitors go away.  But you need to become a premium member in order to do so if you are publisher, but if you are advertiser, you pay for what you place your ADs. The Ads Placement campaign is not very expensive and create quite a lot of traffic.  Either way, it is a good thing, because we all are working for traffic in the first place.

My Review

I finally decided to become a member with this site, because most importantly, you earn visitors, visitors are traffic/hits, alternatively, they are potential customers for your site. With abut half a million members there, Some said that you may not get target visitors to your site, but it’s not totally true in a sense that Linkreferral actually listed  website/blogs as a directory based. So, even if you are visiting other sites, you choose what category you want to spend time on it.  So, it’s actually categorized audience you will be getting. 

Moreover, as a promoter/advertiser, you can buy traffic at very cheap price as well.  So, take advantage of this program and get more traffic.

The Host

What’s the catch for them? They get more members, they get more traffic, at the same time, they display ads to us, they can also assign revenue sharing ad-placement on our sites. It’s win-win situation, they do the programming part, we do the hits/traffic part. Most important, they get advertisers by using pyramid referral system.
