Twitter’s poor bug “accept” is probably taking its toll on the most popular micro blogging site. It has been so popular with “accept” key people are able to force and make other members of known ID to become their follower with the parameter “accept username” where username is a user who you want his/her to follow you automatically.

At the moment, all concerned members are now resett to zero, which would be a really painful process if you had built your account 3-4 years ago. However, there’s a little light in the tunnel at the moment, but I don’t really know if it is going to be sure. At twitter’s official blog,

“We’re now working to rollback all abuse of the bug that took place. Follower/following numbers are currently at 0; we’re aware and this too should shortly be resolved.”

So, hopefully, this thing will be resolved very soon. As a matter of fact, I can see many people will be leaving Twitter for this matter because of easy exploitation in security matter. It was just a coincidence of this bug when an “ACCEPT” fan (German Rock Band from 80s) typed “accept xyz“, and he suddenly had the follower with the login “xyz”, that’s when he posted this strange behavior on his blog and finally come to this as a bug. At the same time, hundreds of people are abusing like, they force and let high profile celebrities to follow them without their consent. Celebrities include Aston Kutcher, Oprah W. and Justin Bieber.

Luckily, I have not practiced that bug and I was not added by force from others, so my account is still working well and not being reset. So, at this moment, if your account following/followers are currently zero (0), don’t panic and give it a few days, I am very hopeful that it will come back to the normal soon.

So, what do you think about this massive bug from Twitter? I definitely they would have prevented this issue because twitter has been using # and @ signs since it is started, I think this “accept” is actually their shortcut to auto-follow when a command is triggered. The question is, for Twitter to find out, who abused the system and who were abused, so that they can differentiate and restore back to normal, if not, there will be heaps of disappointment from honest users, in my opinion.

Another overloading time for Twitter today, My time 29th April, 2010 at 10:09:42 am.

I am pretty upset with twitter lately as I don’t want to use external APIs to connect. It is because there are too many APIs connecting and looks like the site has been overloaded frequently. With the massive amount of messages flying around the net, especially evening time for US will be pretty much a lot of traffic and load balancing machines at Twitter can probably do nothing about it.

At the other hand, it’s fantastic massive traffic flowing in and out of Twitter and I think twitter can actually give you pretty much of SEO advantage over time, because the indexing method with Twitter is not so bad even though first generated TWEET is not necessarily creating massive traffic. So yea, SEO/SEM wise, it’s a great approach, and it is well-used by many others now.

Anyway, another disappointing experience with Twitter this week, AGAIN and I hope they will improve their accessibility soon.

Twitter has been pretty popular with celebrities, web site owners, SEO and SEM campaigns. However, twitter also has to pay the price of being so popular as well.

Twitter has been lagging and sometimes not working perfectly fine for my tweets and it is very disappointing for me. I wish Twitter had been improved better with uptime as I have been a twitter member for over a year right now. Though I have seen heaps of members every single day now I feel like Twitter is going nowhere with this interrupted services and unreliable following of members. As for me, I will always follow to anyone who really follows me, orelse I will unfollow at the end of the week.

So, I hope to see better uptime and reliable services from Twitter soon because I actually like Twitter very much and I want to keep using it for a long time. What are your thoughts about Twitter? If you want to get great followers, Just try to follow the followers in my @list, because I only keep to those who really follow and stay the same way.

Thanks for reading and happy Tweeting.

These days, I am a regular reader rather than a blogger. It is because writing a blog can be sometimes time consuming. Besides, I have been relocating countries and it took about 6 months of my regular blogging habits. So, Yes, I will have to practice to blog again.

To be honest, nowadays, I like to read and review other sites because I find that facinating for other bloggers who have been brilliant with their blogs. I would not rather get an idea or copy/paste other people work, but I actually like to share with what I read, because some of the blogs may not be in your reach while I have done my SEO/SEM works, So, at least, this will reach out to my readers as well.. As you know reviewing is one of my interests while I am blogging.

Today, I read about the title 10 Things Your Blog Doesn’t Need. And It is simple but yet fantastic read, so that you will enjoy like I did.

Yes, That is right. If you are reading my blog post, that means you want to find Tweeple that will always follow you back. I have been using Twitter for a while and I plan to offer something for my readers by collecting the list of Twitter followers who will actually follow you back. But there is always one trick, you are really supposed to follow them as well.

Twitter is basically a micro-blogging tool that you can have 140 characters to type in and let others share with your thoughts, status, being and news. So, make sure you always follow them while they are willing to follow you back, I don’t want to bore you with long list, because I actually maintain the list who would actually follow you back in return.

So, go get the list http://twitter.com/NandaLinnAung/followers

You won’t be disappointed with the outcome. Especially you are a newbie to Twitter. Enjoy and Leave a comment below with your Twitter account, so that more people can be able to follow you. So would I.

I am now thinking about little bit of documenting about twitter trends… Because its fun to see how the trend is moving around the net.

So, today’s search and trending topics are currently

#nottosayonfirstdate

New MoonNew Moon, the next Twilight movie, will be out in theaters Nov. 20. Fans can’t wait.

Voting on the 5 top nominations in each category takes place Nov. 18 – Dec. 13. Winners to be announced Dec. 15.

IrelandIreland lost to France 1-2 in a World Cup qualifying soccer match (Nov. 18).

ThanksgivingIn the United States, people give thanks on the fourth Thursday in November (in 2009, the 26th).
FIFA

It’s actually interesting to see twitter has now global player as you can actually see search such as Thierry Henry is now dominating Twitter as football/soccer is pretty much not the hot topic but the total volume of twitter users are no longer dependent on US population, which is pretty good news for Twitter.

So, what are your thoughts?

Lately, I have been using this service, Twitoaster.com, for my tweets. It is really awesome service and I actually enjoy using it. It can actually track your twitter discussion, hence whoever replies to your tweets, will get indexed in Twitoaster.com.

How does it work?

As usual, it is basically an external API, so when you login at twitoaster, simply use your twitter login and password there, and that’s it. It will actually index all your replies, retweets that are in public timeline.

What’s the catch?

Why do we create accounts on facebook, friendster, myspace, twitter, digg, technorati? It is basically understandable that they give you traffic, search ability and special add-on functions that you can actually link back to your blog, profiles, websites, etc. Twitoaster can index your tweets, RTs, therefore, in a marketing point of view, when you post a URL in your tweets and someone replies you, your URL will get indexed which is good for extra traffic when someone search as many of internet marketer uses twitter to gain more traffic. Google index pretty quick with Twitoaster and I sometimes found my tweets while I search some of the keywords I posted in Twitter. That means, you don’t need extra time to input your tweets to be seen, not only in twitter, but also in Google, Yahoo! and MSN Live.

Usability

It is similar to blog commenting and it works with the feed, so, it is extremely easy to use and very user friendly, whatever you post in Twitoaster will be posted in Twitter, but it is not very good to spam because you have limits to use external APIs in Twitter, nevertheless, if you post something really good in 140 characters, it is possible that you will get some replies and that will actually make your tweets easily found and more popular not only in Twitter, but also in the web.

So, give it a try at Twitoaster.com and tell me what you think.

Have a good one.

Want to get Twitter followers efficiently? These are some of the facts you actually do not be able to find. Because I do experience myself in order to share my knowledge to you. Not to take some points from other people’s work. And yes, I do things slowly, but do it right to make the best out of it.

But you will not definitely find my post short cut or gain 20,000 followers within a week, but you will have steady increase number of followers, let’s say 50-100 members of followers a day if you build a good relationship with your followers.

Things you can’t easily find out on Google search about Twitter?

You can see thousands of blog articles written online, but when you hit 2000 following, not followers, you are stuck.. Why? because twitter put limits on following at 2000, unless your followers are properly ratioed. I am shocked to learn that internet gurus hardly talk about twitter limit. It’s probably one of the most important things you need to know about Twitter, read more here about twitter follow limit.

Twitter marketing?

Twitter is probably one of the hottest tool for internet marketing people. I do little bit of marketing for my websites, but never spam on your status. The point is you have 140 characters to do marketing on your status, the more follower, the better chance that they will see your status quite intriguing and click your URL (your URL can be shorten, meaning, no matter how long your blog post or URL is, it will actually be reduced to 18-20 characters). Moreover, you can actually hide if you are posting affiliate links, so that drives you more possible sales conversion as well. So, be wise for your 140 characters and make use of best possible punch line.

Twitter following and followers?

You will probably see have 15,000 followers in 3 weeks or I make 20k followers in 1 month thing around. My suggestion is not to spend a dime and get consistent and real followers for you. Remember, more than 50% of twitter members follow to get followers consequently can broadcast our status to the followers. It is neither geo-targeted nor niche-targeted. But always keep in mind, people want to build up relationships in Twitter, simple build up your relationship with your followers and following members.

My Motto @ Twitter

Follow me, follow you attitude. I always try to follow anyone who followed me. This is the right way to build up relationship with your followers. Of course, some people cannot follow you back right away because they probably reach twitter limits and stuck with following limits. Some people may not actually follow you permanently too. But that’s okay, you win some, you lose some. But once you build a good relationship to anyone, it does not matter, you will slowly build your Twitter network stronger than ever. Take a look at my follower at Twitter, you will see my total followers. If you want effectively gain twitter follower fast, just follow the people who followed me, because they actually followed me right away and they keep their following permanently. Check out my followers.

Here comes the most important thing, you would want to build your list slowly, so that you will not be stuck with twitter limits. So, make sure you follow like 100 members a day. Next day, you keep your following. Even you have 1000 following limits, you can actually get stuck if your following and follower ratio is not propotionate. So, follow properly, but not aggresively. While following maintain good relationship and RT other tweets, so that people will actually get to know you.

I made a lot of friends in Twitter, I barely know, But If someone Tweet such as “Share me some of your SEO tools”, and I just gave back RT (re-tweet) or DM (direct message).. In a couple of hours, i will get “thanks for the tools”, etc etc.

Nevermind about too many interests?

No, people don’t mind, they want what they want to. Sometimes, I tweet about myself. Once I tweet, This is so boring day, I will definitely get back “same here”, “rainy day and sleepy”, in a couple of minutes. Sometimes, direct to my Twitter login. That’s how you create your relationship, Now, I even search blogs on Twitter rather than Google, because you get more filtered as people would share or announce some good articles. When you focus on marketing alone, I don’t think it gives you real joy of using twitter. I gained heaps of friends in Basketball tweets, but never disappointed in my SEO/SEM discussions too.

Requirements for Twitter Members?

No, I am just being cheesy with the subtopics. There’s no requirement needed, but always treat other people with respect and have fun. Don’t just login to share your blog post with alot of URLs. Because many people check out your profile before they add you and when they see very few updates, they know they cannot do any interactive relationship with you and perhaps will not add you in their list. And some people get annoyed by constantly advertising your URL every single update of yours. So, be involved in community while doing your marketing at the same time.

So, Good luck and hope you get good Twitter campaign for your marketing, social networking, jobs, searches or even fun stuff to read.

Speaking of web 2.0, now Twitter is probably the most discussed tool on the planet. I watched CNN, they have twitter account, I watched talk-shows, they have twitter accounts, such as Ellen Show, Jimmy Kimmel, etc etc.

Why twitter is so hot?

Twitter is basically updating status tool that can be integrated with other APIs (Application Programming Interface).

Why use twitter?

Twitter is pretty awesome for social networking, it is one way communication or could be two ways if you wish to. The biggest difference about other social networking sites such as facebook, friendster, myspace is that twitter does not need to approve your request to be in your network. If someone likes what you write, they will follow you, however, you don’t have to follow back.

Twitter hype?

It is actually now too much hype as of today. People are jumping the bandwagon on twitter and some people even misuse or abuse the system. But don’t worry, you can easily get banned too.

For we all know, twitter is coming along nicely in blogger world. However, Facebook failed to bid twitter eventually and It may be the end of the rumor for possible merger between two big guns.

Of course, the main reason is about price and structure between two companies and the most important thing is the difficulty to determine the value of the stocks of twitter.

These two companies are pretty famous for web 2.0 environment, so that people are intrigued about this particular news. However, it is actually irony that these companies do not make massive amount of revenue yet, but looks very much likely to be potential market in a near future.

In my opinion, twitter will be a next big thing for web 2.0. It is just a matter of time whether Facebook or Google will buy Twitter off.

Twitter’s been the latest Web 2.0 craze, and there’s no doubt about that.

What is it? Well you have a bunch of friends that follow you, and you follow a bunch of friends yourself. This creates a stable social network, and eventually snowballs into a massive online community – so to speak. The point of the idea is to allow other people to know what your doing, pretty much as you do it. You have 140 characters to say what you want to say, and let your followers know!

Now many web developers use this social media network to gain traffic and you can do the same! More traffic means more revenue What you firstly need to do is, obviously sign up for an account. Then build up a good network of friends. This isn’t a short-term or “over night” traffic booster. Getting traffic from twitter will take some time, but the advantage is that it will be EXTREMELY targeted, simply because the visitor shows great deal of interest.

Once you sign up and build a good network of friends, you can start Twittering and letting people know what your doing, and every now and post a link to your site/page/product. Twitter will automatically cloak long URLs but that’s not a worry!

One of the biggest mistakes newbies using Twitter is that they go randomly mass adding people – DON’T DO THIS! It’s regarded as spam and you won’t succeed, just don’t even try! However, you can use the following 16 tools to maximize your Twitter Potential!

Twitter Specific Tools:

1) TwitterFox is a Firefox extension that notifies you of your friends’ status on Twitter and lets you make posts from your browser status bar. It also allows you to switch between multiple Twitter accounts in one click. This is my #1 must-have, deal-breaker, cannot live without Twitter plug-in.

2) Retweet This is an application designed for use with the Greasemonkey Firefox plug-in. It allows you to append a retweet button to the end of each Twitter entry to encourage your followers to retweet your posts.

3) Classify Twitter Users is a script that allows you to classify Twitter users and decide whether they are worth following based on their friends, followers and post ratios. Another Greasemonkey app, it’s a great tool to help you weed out the Twitter spammers and fan boys from the socially healthy.

4) TwittAd allows Twitter users to monetize their account by accepting advertising on the background image of their Twitter user profile. You decide the duration and price advertisers pay for exposure and get paíd for every hour you serve the ad.

5) TwitterCounter lets you add a daily updating TwitterCounter to your blog so everybody can see how popular you are by the number of persons following you.

6) TweetBeep is just like having Google Alerts for Twitter. It enables you to keep track of conversations that mention you, your products or your company via email. You can even keep track of who’s tweeting your website or blog. It’s a great tool for online reputation management and you don’t even have to be a Twitter user to benefit from it. TweetBeep is another one of my personal *must haves*.

7) Twitter Grader measures the reach and authority of a Twitter user, calculated by the pace of their updates, the completeness of their profile, their number of followers and the network power of those followers.

Twitter Grader displays as a score out of 100 and is consistently updating and adapting as your Twitter account grows. Based on those grades, Twitter Grader lists the Twitter Elite globally and in each country, just like Technorati does for bloggers.

TwitPic, as the name suggests, is a photo sharing tool for Twitter. When logged in, it allows you to upload photos and post them with comments as a Tweet. It works with a range of Twitter clients such as Twitterific, Twhirl and MobileTwitter and stores all your photos in a single location with updated viewing stats. As far as Twitter image sharing goes, this is king for reliability.

9) Twuffer is a Twitter buffer. It allows Twitter users to compose a líst of future tweets, and schedule their release. Twuffer is ideal for making hourly, daily or monthly announcements or send post-dated birthday greetings or reminders to people about upcoming events. It’s also perfect if you’re the type of person who wants to give the impression that you don’t ever sleep.

10) Twistori I have a real soft spot for this one. One of the developers is Amy Hoy, one of my favorite speakers from Webstock 2008 and a goth geek to boot. Twistori is a social experiment that taps into the Twitter conversations revolving around life’s central activities: Love, Hate, Think, Believe, Feel, Wish. You can click on any of these emotions and witness a live feed of Tweets that use them. It’s voyeuristic and utterly compelling.

11) iTweet is another interface for Twitter. It has built-in auto-refresh, search and hash tags and features full follow, block and notifications features. Users can view and post user bio, location and URLs inline with their tweets. Another cool feature of iTweet is the ability to Retweet a user post with a single click.

12) Twitturly is a service for tracking what URLs people are talking about as they talk about them on Twitter. Similar to Digg, on Twitturly, people “vote” for a URL. The more votes it gets the better it ranks. If it does well enough, it gets promoted to the home page and as the votes rise it gets displayed higher up the home page. Twitturly differs from Digg in that instead of voting on their site, you vote by participating on Twitter. Each time that you send a link to your followers on Twitter, Twitturly takes a note of it and applies your vote to that URL. It’s a great way to follow the loudest global conversations.

13) Mr Tweet is another big favorite of mine. Similar to LinkedIn , it looks through your extended network and makes suggestions to help you build effective relationships on Twitter. For example, which of your followers should you be following in return? Who are the most influential people you should be following? Who are your followers following?

14) Twitter Search is Twitter’s own built-in and oft-overlooked search tool. You can use it to search for other Twitter users, keywords, hash tag topics and a range of cool shortcut items.

Non Twitter Specific Tools:

15) FlipTitle is, not surprisingly, a tool that enables you to flip text upside down. It’s great for Twitter because sometimes your tweets can get lost in the conversation. Using FlipTitle makes sure they get noticed.

16) Bit.ly is a very cool URL shortener that also includes click-thru statistics. Why is it perfect for Twitter? Because the length of the converted URLs is generally much shorter than other URL converters like TinyURL. When you are tweeting, space is premium as your whole post can only consist of 140 characters including spacing.
